We donate Books for Africa

Our goal is to send 6,000 books to eight schools across Africa by May of 2026. Help us get there by donating to our cause.

The purpose behind the project...

Welcome to Books for Africa (BFA), where the magic of literature meets the power of compassion. BFA is a movement that transcends borders and transforms lives. Our mission is simple yet profound: to provide access to the world of knowledge and imagination by donating books to Africa.

Join us on this incredible journey as we harness the written word to make a difference, one book at a time. Together, we can write a bright chapter in the story of Africa’s future.

Meet the Founder

My name is Isabel Toole, and I’m currently a senior attending Santa Catalina School in Monterey, California. In mid-2023, I took the initiative to establish a non-profit organization now known as Books For Africa (BFA), which aims to raise awareness of the educational disparities prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to this, our Non-Profit donates books to various countries across the continent. With over 190 student members, BFA is determined to help as many schools and students as possible gain access to the education they deserve.

In November of 2023, we were able to send over 1,000 books to a school located in Entebbe, Uganda. When I visited Uganda, I got to meet with the children of the school, which was an amazing experience. The Non-Profit we partnered with to complete such a task asked me, as president, to write a reflection article on my experience visiting the school, which I happily completed.

In addition to this, BFA has been featured multiple times in various news letters. Since our first project, we’ve also partnered with Half Price Books in an attempt to meet all of our future goals.
